Firmware Update Tutorial for QRD SPARK N5 PS4 Controller

    Important Precaution

Improper firmware update operations may cause controller malfunction. Please follow the steps strictly. If the update fails or the controller behaves abnormally, refer to the troubleshooting section at the end.

Step 1: Prepare the Firmware Program
1. Visit the official website to download the latest firmware program file for QRD SPARK N5.
Before downloading, disable the computer’s firewall and all third-party antivirus software to prevent download failure due to program interception.
2. Locate the downloaded firmware file and double-click to launch it.
If a C++ error prompt appears when opening the file:
① Try right-clicking the file, select Properties > Compatibility, check the box for "Run this program in compatibility mode", and choose a compatible Windows version to run the file.
② If the error persists, attempt the update on a computer with a different Windows operating system.

Step 2: Connect the Controller to the Computer
1. Ensure the QRD SPARK N5 controller is completely powered off (no LED lights illuminated, in full standby mode).
2. Press and hold the [△] button firmly and do not release it.
3. While holding [△], connect the controller to a USB port on your computer using a USB cable.
4. Keep holding [△] until the "UPDATE" button appears in the firmware program interface, then release the [△] button.
(Note: Normally, the controller will not display any LED lights when successfully recognized by the computer.)

Step 3: Perform the Firmware Update
1. Once the "UPDATE" button is visible in the firmware program, click it to start the update.
2. Wait for the update process to complete. Do not disconnect the USB cable or close the firmware program during this period.

Step 4: Confirm Successful Update
The update is completed successfully when the controller reactivates its LED lights and power functions automatically. You can then disconnect the USB cable and use the controller normally.

Troubleshooting: Interrupted or Failed Update

If the update is interrupted, cancelled, or fails (e.g., controller becomes unresponsive):
1. Locate the hidden RESET button on the controller and press it to restore the device to the last working firmware version.
2. After resetting, repeat Steps 1–4 above to retry the firmware update.
