Please unzip the firmware package and follow the update guide before installing.

 

How to Enter Firmware Update Mode

Before updating, prepare:

• QRD VORTEX F5 handheld console

• Windows PC

• USB data cable

• Latest QRD VORTEX F5 firmware package

• Firmware update / flashing tool

Before starting the update, make sure the VORTEX F5 has sufficient battery power.

 

Before opening the firmware update tool:

1. Connect the VORTEX F5 to the PC using a USB data cable.

2. Press and hold the Volume + button.

3. While continuing to hold Volume +, press the Reset button once.

4. Wait for the PC and firmware update tool to detect the VORTEX F5.

5. Release the Volume + button after the device successfully enters firmware update mode.

Key Combination:

• Hold Volume + → Press Reset once

 

6. Update Process

• Download and unzip the latest QRD VORTEX F5 firmware package.

• Open the firmware update tool on a Windows PC.

• Connect the VORTEX F5 using a USB data cable.

• Press and hold the Volume + button.

• While holding Volume +, press the Reset button once.

• Wait until the firmware tool recognizes the device.

• Load or select the latest VORTEX F5 firmware file if required.

• Start the firmware update.

• Wait until the update process is completely finished.

• Disconnect the VORTEX F5 only after the firmware tool confirms that the update has been completed successfully.

• Restart the device.

The first startup after installing new firmware may take longer than a normal boot.
